General

BookBudLC is a BookBud-family tool for creating print-ready low-content and mid-content paperback books for Amazon KDP. It generates the interior PDF, cover PDF, and metadata CSV you can use in your own KDP account.

Yes. When creating a word search book, choose "Auto — match my book topic" and BookBudLC generates a word list based on your book's title, subtitle, and description. Several built-in themed word lists are also available if you prefer not to use auto mode.

You can regenerate the cover up to 5 times on the same draft without extra charge — the book credit is only spent once on the first generation. If you hit the limit, download what you have or start a new book to get a fresh attempt.

No. Amazon KDP classifies puzzle books (sudoku, word search, mazes) and coloring books as standard content, not low-content. When uploading these titles, leave the low-content book checkbox unchecked and assign a Print ISBN — the free KDP ISBN works for standard content. Journals, notebooks, planners, and logbooks ARE low-content books, but the free KDP ISBN is not available for them — publish without an ISBN or use one you already own.

All non-AI book types — lined notebooks, dot grid, planners, logbooks, and puzzle books (sudoku, word search, mazes) — are available on the free plan and all paid plans. Prompt journals (AI-generated writing prompts per page) require the Publisher plan or higher. AI coloring books require the Studio plan.

Prompt journals currently offer six themes: Gratitude, Devotional (Christian faith-based), Travel, Self-Reflection, Mindfulness, and Productivity. Each theme generates unique, varied prompts for every book so no two journals are identical. Prompt journals require the Publisher plan or higher and count as AI-generated content for KDP disclosure purposes.

Yes. Every account starts on the free plan, which includes 1 completed book credit for the lifetime of the account — it is not renewed monthly. Free plan users can create any non-AI book type — journals, planners, logbooks, dot-grid notebooks, and puzzle books (sudoku, word search, mazes). Need more books without subscribing? One-time credit packs are available any time on the Pricing page. AI book types (prompt journals and coloring books) require a paid subscription.

If you cancel, your plan stays active through the end of the current billing period, then moves to the free plan. If a renewal payment fails, you get a 30-day grace period to update your payment method before your account is downgraded to free. Your books and imprints are not deleted when you downgrade — you just return to the free plan's monthly book allowance.

Yes. One-time credit packs are available any time on the Pricing page: 1 credit for $9, or 3 credits for $19. These credits never expire and stack with any subscription you already have. AI book types (prompt journals, coloring books) still require the matching plan tier no matter which credits you use.

Yes. On the Download tab of the book creation wizard, you can pick from eight interior fonts: Classic Serif (Times), Lora, EB Garamond, Merriweather, Libre Baskerville, PT Serif, Crimson Text, and Nunito (a clean sans-serif). Your chosen font is applied to the title page and body text. You can also change the font from the book edit page and regenerate the interior to apply it.

Yes. From the book edit page, you can view all pages in your coloring book and regenerate any single page without recreating the entire book. The updated interior PDF is rebuilt automatically and no additional credit is charged for individual page regenerations.

Dated Daily and Dated Monthly planners generate one page per day (or one spread per month) across a date range you choose. After selecting a dated type, pick your start and end dates — the page count is calculated automatically and cannot be changed separately. The final interior is fully dated and ready to upload to KDP.

"Rebuild Cover" recomposes the full-wrap cover using your existing front artwork — it applies any title, subtitle, or cover style changes without generating new AI art, so it is instant and costs nothing. "Regenerate Cover" creates entirely new AI artwork for the front, which gives you a fresh look but takes a moment to generate.

On the Generate Cover tab, pick from 16 AI art styles — including Minimalist, Illustrated, Photorealistic, Retro, and Painterly — before generating your cover. Your last choice is remembered as the default for your next book, and you can pick a different style any time you create or regenerate a cover.

Yes. Open any finished book and choose "Build a companion series" to generate five genuinely different book ideas — different audiences or angles, not near-duplicates — based on that book. Pick any idea to open it prefilled in the creator and turn it into a new book.

Yes. A coupon or affiliate code field appears above the pricing cards on the homepage and on the /pricing page. Enter your code before clicking the subscribe button and the discount applies to your first invoice. Affiliate codes give 10% off your first month; one code per customer.

The KDP Catalog Planner is a free calculator on the BookBudLC homepage. Enter a monthly royalty goal and it estimates how many KDP titles you would need at typical sales rates. It is intentionally conservative — low-content publishing rewards a steady, varied catalog, not a quick-upload strategy.

AI coloring books are currently limited to 24–30 pages per book. Each page is generated individually with AI-created line art, which makes the process more resource-intensive than non-AI book types. You can regenerate any individual page from the book edit page after creation, at no additional book credit.

The Privacy Policy is available at bookbudlc.com/privacy. It explains how we handle your account information, book-generation inputs, billing records, support messages, and analytics. BookBudLC is operated by Archieboy Holdings, LLC.

Imprints

Yes. On the Imprints page you can create one or more publisher identities, each with its own name and logo (uploaded or AI-generated). When creating a book, pick which imprint applies from a dropdown, and its logo or name is used as the cover byline automatically. Leave the imprint field blank to use your typed author name instead.

KDP

No. BookBudLC gives you downloadable files and metadata for your own Amazon KDP account. You are responsible for reviewing the files, uploading them to KDP, setting pricing, and following Amazon policies.

If your book uses AI-generated text or images, you should disclose that in KDP when Amazon asks. Algorithmic puzzle pages are different from AI-generated content, but prompt journals, AI covers, and coloring art may require disclosure depending on what you create.

Low-content books are allowed, but Amazon expects quality, useful metadata, and meaningful variation. Avoid duplicate or near-duplicate books, copied content, misleading metadata, and mass-upload behavior.

No. BookBudLC helps create print-ready files, but Amazon approval, discoverability, pricing, keywords, cover quality, and sales performance depend on your decisions and Amazon policies. See the Disclaimer / Terms & Conditions for the full service disclaimer.

Plans

Paid plans include a monthly book allowance: Author includes 10 books per month, Publisher includes 30, and Studio includes 100. The free plan works differently — it includes 1 completed book one time only, for the life of the account, not a monthly renewal. AI-heavy types such as coloring books use weighted credits because they cost more to generate.

No. Credits are charged when a book generation is started, and deleting a book does not refund that credit. This keeps the ledger fair and prevents repeated free regenerations.

Annual plans are priced as ten months for a full year: Author is $190/year, Publisher is $490/year, and Studio is $990/year.

Troubleshooting

AI image services can occasionally return temporary errors. Please try again. If the same generation keeps failing, contact support with your account email and what you were trying to create.
